Students are at the centre of all our college activities and programmes. As an institution we are committed to promoting the over-all wellbeing of our students. This includes providing them a safe and secure environment as well as adequate facilities in terms of infrastructure and other support systems. We aspire to create an environment conducive to making their stay in the college happy and productive. Special attention is paid to make sure that our differently-abled students are totally comfortable.
Below are the Committees:
DISCIPLINE & ANTI-RAGGING CELL
The Discipline and Anti-Ragging Cell, established according to the regulations of the UGC. The Cell’s responsibility is to ensure that students maintain discipline in the classrooms and within the college campus. The members of the cell keep a regular check on students behaviour and make sure that the college campus is free from ragging and eve-teasing.
Ragging is a criminal offence as per Karnataka educational act 1983 and Honorable Supreme Court of India.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL
The Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students whatever be the nature of the problem. Students are encouraged to use the suggestion boxes placed on different sections of the campus to express constructive suggestions and grievances. They may also approach the members of the cell or any of their other teachers as is comfortable to them. Students may also express their grievances online by filling out the form below. College assures the students that once a complaint is made, it will be treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.
ATTENDANCE AND COURSE TRACKING SYSTEM
The college has a very strong rule as far as the attendance is concerned. It is mandatory for all students to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% without which they will not be allowed to appear for their exams. Constant monitoring of attendance will be done by the college for better academic performance of the students.
CENTRE FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
The Centre for Women’s Empowerment at SBCMS strives to maintain and augment the gender-neutral atmosphere of college. The centre encourages the girls to come forward to talk about women related issues and tries to sensitize the youth about gender reality as the goal to emancipate and empower women. Focus of the Centre is to eliminate the discrimination and all forms of violence against women and girl child in Indian Society. With a view of taking up women’s issues and problems, the Centre aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides platform for girls and women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the centre stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures and other meaningful activities.
